Obra shadcn/ui kit milestone: over 10,000 duplicates

Written by Johan Ronsse

We’re excited to share the latest updates to our Obra shadcn/ui kit.

Over 10,000 duplicates!

Momentum continues to grow, with over 10,000 people having duplicated our Obra shadcn/ui kit. For the fourth consecutive week, usage increased by over 1,000 duplicates per week.

We’re happy the design community is discovering and using our kit, which motivates us to continue improving it.

0.5.0 update: light/dark mode and theming

In 0.5.0, we added support for light and dark mode. The use of theming variables across the board enables users to easily tailor the kit to a custom theme. This was a highly requested community feature and its release brings us very close to an official 1.0 version (see GitHub issue: road to 1.0).

0.4.0 update: spacing and border radii variables

In 0.4.0, we added spacing and border radii variables. We also released two plugins on our Figma community profile to help maintain consistency in the library design file. You could also use these in your own projectss, they are built in a generic way:

0.3.0 update: all docs with Propstar

In 0.3.0, we updated all component documentation pages to use Propstar. While this provides a way to document your components fast, it's slightly annoying to improve them after.

Since components need constant improvement, we released a little tools plugin that makes working with Propstar easier. We gave it the very generic name “shadcn/ui tools” because we plan for this plugin to house more Obra shadcn/ui related features.

Basically anything that helps to maintain the library in a consistent manner that can be automated.

Sponsor this project

Sponsoring our open community work  helps support this project and keep it alive and maintained. We have bigger plans for this library. Supporting means you'll be the first to hear about them, and you'll have access to private consulting. Check out the different support tiers to learn more.
