Apple Liquid Glass resources: update 2
Written
Earlier this month, we gathered a list of helpful Liquid Glass resources, while testing Apple’s new iOS betas. With this post, we have some more resources to share: there’s now an official UI kit for Figma, and it’s possible to use Liquid Glass in several design apps.

The Glass effect in Figma allows you to change the light direction as well as refraction, depth, dispersion and frost levels.
Apple is pumping out beta versions at a fast pace. Beta 4 was released yesterday and we haven’t had the chance to check it out yet.
After criticism of accessibility and contrast in the first betas, Apple toned down the Liquid Glass effect severely in iOS 26 beta 3. We could even call it ”frosted glass“ now. See this blog post by Matt Birchler for some reference screenshots.
Last week, Apple updated their iOS and iPadOS 26 resource pages with a link to the Figma kit (next to the existing Sketch resource). The file reveals they must have worked with Figma since it makes extensive use of the new Liquid Glass effect. I have to say — they shipped this incredibly fast. See this demo video.
There are some limitations to using Liquid Glass in Figma — you can’t just apply it to everything. For example, you have to apply it to a frame, and if you want to use rounded corners, they have to be equal on every side. If you want to go deeper we recommend this demo video by Rogie.
Liquid Glass as a feature is also appearing in several other design apps.
iOS-specific design app Play also has a Liquid Glass feature, but it doesn’t seem up to date. Personally, I do not use Play, but given the right project, I should maybe give it another chance.
Hana (by the team behind Spline) also integrated Liquid Glass into their tool. A tutorial on how to do Liquid Glass within Hana can be found here. It looks like their implementation goes further than Figma’s.

Hana has more sliders to play with: offset, distortion, depth, blur, aberration, aberration type, profile and magnification.
We’re still forming our opinion on Liquid Glass. Stay tuned for a blog post with our first thoughts soon.
